Overview

This position focuses on handling overdue accounts through professional client interactions and negotiations to arrange payment plans. The role demands strong communication skills, analytical thinking, and adherence to legal and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Customer Contact: Reaching out to clients by phone, email, and postal mail to address overdue accounts.
• Negotiation: Creating, proposing, and finalizing payment plans to resolve outstanding balances.
• Record Management: Updating account statuses, logging interaction histories, and generating collection reports.
• Dispute Resolution: Examining and correcting payment discrepancies or billing errors.
• Compliance: Following state and federal regulations for debt collection activities.
• Reporting: Tracking and reporting on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as Days Sales Outstanding (DSO).

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Communication and Negotiation: Excellent verbal and written abilities for professional and persuasive dialogue.
• Analytical Abilities: Capability to review accounts and identify patterns in non-payment.
• Technical Proficiency: Experience with collections software, CRM tools, and Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
• Education and Experience: High school diploma required, typically with 1-2 years of experience in finance, customer service, or collections.
• Attributes: Goal-oriented, detail-focused, and able to remain composed under pressure.
