The General Accounting Manager oversees accounting procedures, systems, and personnel to ensure the generation of precise and thorough financial statements for the University of California, Santa Barbara. The reliability of this financial data is crucial for executive leadership, regulatory boards, and external parties, influencing the campus credit rating and its strategic objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in a related field or equivalent experience and training.
- 7 to 9 years of increasingly responsible professional accounting experience within large, complex organizations.
- 7 to 9 years of proven expertise in managing general accounting operations and preparing GAAP compliant financial statements.
- 7 to 9 years of experience leading, developing, and managing professional accounting staff, processes, and internal controls.
- 7 to 9 years of experience maintaining the integrity, dependability, and audit readiness of financial information.
- 7 to 9 years of experience overseeing fiscal and monthly closing processes.
- 4 to 6 years of experience coordinating plant accounting activities with facilities and capital project teams.
- 4 to 6 years of experience using enterprise financial systems and driving process improvements in complex organizations.
Special Conditions of Employment
