EXPO: The Whisper House is seeking an exceptional kitchen Expo. Must be bilingual in English and Spanish, have experience in a high-volume kitchen setting, remain composed under pressure, and demonstrate strong attention to detail. A seamless workflow between the kitchen and the dining area is essential. You will operate in a fast-paced environment to ensure accurate and efficient order delivery. Responsibilities include: ensuring the smooth flow of orders from the cash register to the kitchen; verifying that orders are prioritized correctly; assisting in final dish preparation; checking dishes for accuracy, presentation, and temperature before service; and communicating effectively with both the back-of-house and front-of-house teams.
HOST: The host or hostess is responsible for greeting and seating guests in a friendly and courteous manner while maintaining an efficient dining room flow. Duties include: greeting guests with a welcoming demeanor and attentiveness as they enter; managing the reservation wait list; seating guests properly according to the seating chart; maintaining a positive, energetic attitude and being mindful of guest needs both in the restaurant and on the phone; answering telephone calls and responding to guest inquiries; assisting servers, food runners, or bartenders when necessary; communicating any special requests or needs from guests to the staff; completing additional tasks as requested by management; and ensuring the host area remains clean and well-maintained. Preferred qualifications include: one year of hosting experience; a positive, upbeat, and energetic personality; ability to work at a fast pace; willingness to assist servers, expos, or bartenders as needed to provide outstanding service; and a strong team-oriented approach to the role.
Hosts and expos also receive tips at the end of every shift in addition to the hourly wage.
