Position Summary

Cloacina is looking for a Construction Manager to oversee both internal and external resources in order to meet contractual project requirements. The selected individual will manage every facet of project management, including setup, fabrication, construction oversight, site safety, and overall project delivery according to plans, specifications, budget, and timetable. Typical project values range from $2,000,000 to over $10,000,000. Travel will be necessary as needed to accomplish project objectives.

Qualifications

  • Ability to manage multiple small to medium-sized projects at once.
  • Thorough understanding of all aspects related to water and wastewater facility construction.
  • Capacity to collaborate effectively with a Production Project Manager at the Cloacina facility.
  • Proficient skills in project budgeting, scheduling, vendor and subcontractor management, as well as job cost tracking.
  • Experience with RFIs, contract enforcement, invoice creation, and payment collection.
  • Accountability for jobsite safety, including developing JSAs and ensuring adherence to safe work practices.
  • Full responsibility for all on-site construction activities, profitability, and project completion.

Primary Responsibilities

Project Preconstruction and Initiation

  • Develop project budgets and phase codes for cost tracking.
  • Issue and negotiate purchase orders and subcontracts.
  • Create a schedule of values and corresponding AIA billing documents.
  • Facilitate preconstruction meetings.
  • Arrange and coordinate site utilities and temporary facilities.
  • Oversee project mobilization efforts.

Project Implementation

  • Establish overall direction, primary planning, and decision-making for the project.
  • Track project budgets and maintain responsibility for profitability.
  • Generate, log, and monitor RFIs.
  • Handle all material procurement and ensure prompt delivery.
  • Conduct all job site meetings with owners, engineers, subcontractors, and staff.
  • Ensure construction aligns with contract documents and industry standards.

Project Completion

  • Create and manage the final punch list.
  • Take full responsibility for closing out the project, including documentation and retention collection.
  • Finish internal project closeout paperwork.

Work Environment and Hazard Notice

The wastewater industry presents hazards such as exposure to biological and chemical agents, confined spaces, slips, falls, extreme temperatures, moving machinery parts, fumes, airborne particles, electrical shock risks, and high noise levels. Employees may come into contact with wastewater containing human waste and potential pathogens. It is essential that workers wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adhere to safety procedures. Staying current with vaccinations (Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Tetanus, Diphtheria) is strongly advised.
