Position Summary

Zurich North America is currently looking for an Underwriting Account Service Manager I to join our Middle Markets division in Los Angeles. This position follows a hybrid work model, which involves being present in the office or out in the field approximately three days each week. In this role, you will oversee a team responsible for delivering customized services to Middle Market clients. The anticipated annual salary for this role ranges from $87,200.00 to $142,800.00, and you may also qualify for a short-term incentive bonus.

Minimum Qualifications

• Basic Requirements (Choose one of the following):
  • A Bachelor's degree combined with at least four years of experience in Insurance, Underwriting, or Market Facing positions.
  • Completion of the Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice program (including an Associate's degree) along with four or more years of relevant experience.
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent and at least six years of applicable experience.
• Familiarity with the insurance industry and its legal and regulatory landscape.
• Desired Qualifications:
  • Professional insurance certifications.
  • Experience in managing personnel.
  • Background in a production-driven and metrics-focused work setting.
  • Understanding of operational budgets.
  • Knowledge of global insurance programs.

Primary Duties

• Direct operational functions for high-volume, medium to large-sized accounts.
• Supervise and mentor a group of six Underwriting Associates.
• Guarantee the team achieves key operational performance targets and perform consistent performance reviews.
• Oversee task distribution and step in to handle customer service or account management tasks when necessary.
• Engage in key account business relationships alongside Underwriters.
• Facilitate essential checkpoint processes and organize communications for regional meetings and training sessions.
