  • Pay: $75,000 to $90,000
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM; occasionally 5:00 PM to 2:00 AM to support night shift audits.

Who You Are

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on professional who works directly on the plant floor. You must have proven experience leading effective behavioral changes in processes, procedures, and implementations within a functional area to ensure performance and productivity in a manufacturing setting.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Develop and implement quality standards, quality control systems, and quality measures.
  • Inspect and test materials, equipment, processes, and products to ensure they meet quality specifications.
  • Create and implement quality improvement parameters by identifying statistical methods relevant to manufacturing processes.
  • Establish statistical confidence by determining sample size and acceptable error, and setting confidence levels.
  • Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data, and making recommendations.
  • Develop sampling and experimental plans using attributes and variable sampling methods.
  • Collaborate with operations to develop and implement controls and improvements.
  • Ensure that workflows, processes, and products comply with industry and safety regulations and standards.
  • Apply excellent troubleshooting skills to ensure processes and products consistently meet established quality standards.
  • Investigate operational errors to determine cause and effect, making recommendations for corrective action.
  • Work in a team environment with customers, co-workers, production supervisors, shipping and receiving, customer service, sales, and company management.
  • Assist the COD and sales teams in resolving customer quality complaints.
  • Process all returned RGA (Return Goods Authorization) items, evaluate the reason for return, and decide on or recommend a resolution to the plant manager.
  • Use accepted methods to inspect, sample, and test materials for quality control and tolerance.
  • Monitor, inspect, and test process functions, products, and materials daily at all stages to ensure products meet or exceed industry standards.
  • Record and log all test data per production process and report weekly to the plant manager.
  • Oversee all aspects of Quality Control, including overall implementation of the quality program, and provide support as needed to key personnel managing processes.
  • Review key metrics daily to ensure budgeted goals are being met. Interpret information and coordinate any required changes or new directives with employees.
  • Review daily production statistics and ensure implementation of measures for continuous improvement in safety, quality, efficiency, and loss prevention.
  • Work with the Supply Chain (Purchasing) team on supplier quality-related issues.
  • Conduct daily inspections to identify unsafe objects and check equipment.
  • Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills You Bring

  • Education: Associate Degree or five years of industry experience.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Minimum of three years of experience managing Quality Control or Operational Standards in a manufacturing environment.
  • A hands-on, plant-floor professional with proven experience leading effective behavioral change in processes, procedures, and implementations to ensure performance and productivity.
  • Knowledge and experience in 5S, continuous improvement, and lean manufacturing.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Strong analytical, statistical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Persuasive communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well in a cross-functional, dynamic, collaborative environment.
  • Direct work with all departments on quality issues, as well as preventative and corrective actions.
  • Actively pursue learning goals for additional growth and development opportunities in production and quality.
  • Contribute to continuous process improvement by updating and writing new process procedures.
  • Create understanding of workflow, employee relations, and processes through hands-on experience with production equipment and working with the production supervisor.
  • Assist production supervisors in training, motivating, and instructing employees engaged in process improvement, documentation, and recording activities.
  • Ability to travel occasionally for training or job site inspections.
