Job Summary

The Ready-Mix Plant Manager collaborates closely with batchmen and drivers to oversee the production, operations, and site facilities of the ready-mix plant. Compensation

$75,000 - $105,000 Annual Salary DOE

Responsibilities

• Oversee safety, environmental matters, cost control, production, and maintenance for ready-mix facilities.
• Establish and monitor a production plan, maintaining accurate cost and inventory control, and calculating and analyzing productivity and material data.
• Document production statistics and generate reports and analyses as required.
• Manage mobile equipment.
• Handle capital and operating budget processes.
• Develop plans to improve performance and reduce operating costs.
• Understand the importance of quality and ensure processes are in place to deliver a quality product to customers.
• Perform duties related to OSHA/CalPortland regulations, including accident investigations and reporting, safety meetings, and training; actively engage with employees to reinforce safe behaviors.
• Work closely with other departments to ensure safety, environmental compliance, quality, and material performance.
• Communicate and maintain positive relationships with the local community.
• Manage and develop personnel.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mining, or Civil Engineering, or equivalent, is a plus.
• Relevant operations management certifications, such as industry-specific management training, are advantageous.

Requirements/Qualifications

• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience running a ready-mix operation, including supporting functions like yard production and product delivery.
• Experience with OSHA/MSHA regulations and requirements.
• Knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and requirements.
• Experience managing groups of employees at one or more locations.
• Experience implementing training programs for drivers, covering driving techniques, truck maintenance, product delivery, ticketing, payments, and customer service.
• Personnel management experience, including interviewing and selection, performance reviews, wage issues, discipline, and legal compliance requirements, is a plus.
• Work experience with SAP or an equivalent ERP system is a plus.
• Proficiency in office systems, including Microsoft Office Suite products like Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Strong leadership, organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Customer service orientation.

Preferred

• Experience in a vertically integrated construction materials organization.
• Experience with SAP.

Conditions of Employment

Successful candidates must submit to a post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screening, and background check. Some positions require FMCSA-regulated ongoing drug and alcohol testing.
