Project Specialist – Energy and Sustainability Operations
Job Type: Full-time, In-person
Location: Southern California
Overview
This role involves supporting and overseeing a diverse array of utility, sustainability, and infrastructure projects within a large real estate portfolio. Key duties include driving cost-saving initiatives, coordinating efforts such as electric vehicle infrastructure and energy efficiency programs, and maintaining regulatory compliance. This position is well-suited for individuals who enjoy addressing operational challenges and seek professional growth within a collaborative and innovative team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Energy and Sustainability: Coordinate electric vehicle charging projects, assist with solar program deployments, manage utility submeters, and analyze consumption patterns to identify savings opportunities.
- Operations and Cost Optimization: Assess waste and recycling programs, research energy-efficient technologies, and pursue available rebate opportunities.
- Compliance and Reporting: Support benchmarking efforts, regulatory compliance activities, and review utility billing for accuracy.
- Safety and Inspections: Organize fire and life safety inspections and manage vendor scheduling.
- Project Coordination: Identify vendors, solicit bids, assist with project implementation, and collaborate with internal teams.
Requirements
- Experience in utilities, facilities management, or property operations.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Capability to handle multiple projects at once.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Must have reliable transportation for site visits across Southern California.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in property management or operations involving multiple sites.
- Background in the energy sector.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish.
