Summary of Job Details
Established in fall 2022, LIFTED (Leveraging Inspiring Futures through Educational Degrees) is a program designed to create University of California bachelor’s degree opportunities for incarcerated individuals in California who have earned associate degrees eligible for transfer to a UC campus. Under the supervision of the UCSB LIFTED Faculty Director, the Program Manager applies professional student services principles to assist individuals incarcerated at California State Prison, Corcoran (CSP-COR) as they navigate the transfer process to UC Santa Barbara. This position encompasses a broad range of student services tasks and responsibilities, including close collaboration with students at CSP-COR and time spent working with them at the facility. Duties involve overseeing professional and student staff, delivering training sessions for faculty and students, maintaining relationships with the prison, and contributing to central policy development. Responsibilities include managing all program processes and procedures, which involve campus and UC policies as well as California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) rules and regulations that extend beyond the unit. Regular travel to California State Prison, Corcoran (CSP-COR) is required to work with enrolled students and faculty teaching program courses.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field and/or equivalent experience or training.
Clearance from the prison to access the education site within 60 days.
Special Conditions of Employment
This is a Career position with a set end date. Current funding supports the role from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2029; however, the position may extend beyond the initial pilot phase if funding becomes available.
Must possess a valid driver’s license, maintain a driving record consistent with local policies and procedures, and/or enroll in the California Employer Pull Notice Program.
Satisfactory completion of a criminal history background check.

Days/Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., schedule may vary.

Full Salary Range: $25.77 to $43.58 per hour.
Hiring or Budgeted Range: $26.53 to $32.19 per hour.
