At Hoggs Hollow Preschool, we are deeply committed to early childhood education. Our warm and nurturing environment is dedicated to supporting children aged 18 months to 5 years in their social, emotional, and cognitive growth through structured learning and creative play. We offer numerous indoor and outdoor hands-on activities that allow children to strengthen various areas of their development.
We are currently looking for compassionate, dependable, and enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Teachers or Assistants.
Position Overview
As a Toddler or Preschool Teacher or Assistant, you will work closely with young children, helping them explore the world through age-appropriate activities, daily routines, and caring support. You will also collaborate with a team of dedicated educators and communicate with families to ensure each child's individual development is fostered.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons and activities.
- Participate in outdoor gross motor activities with students, including daily biking, running, relay races, and sack races.
- Partner with co-teachers to manage daily routines and lesson plans.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with both children and parents.
- Assist children with daily routines such as diapering, toileting, handwashing, snack and meal times, and nap time.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment.
- Monitor children’s development and contribute to progress documentation.
- Attend weekly team meetings and occasional school events.
Qualifications
Education:
- Required: 12 ECE units, which must include an infant/toddler class and a curriculum course.
- Must be actively working toward completing 12 units if not already finished.
- Preferred: A degree in Child Development or a related field.
Certifications and Clearances:
- Current CPR and First Aid certification, or the ability to obtain these before hire.
Skills and Attributes:
- Passionate about working with toddlers.
- Ability to engage in outdoor gross motor activities.
- Patient, nurturing, and solution-oriented.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Reliable team player with a positive attitude.
- Comfortable with diapering and toileting tasks.
- Professional and supportive when communicating with parents.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and remain active throughout the day.
- Comfortable bending, kneeling, and sitting at a child’s level frequently.
Schedule
Full-time position, 35 to 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
