Summary of Job Details

Established in the fall of 2022, LIFTED (Leveraging Inspiring Futures through Educational Degrees) is a program designed to create University of California Bachelor of Arts degree opportunities for incarcerated Californians who have completed Associate of Arts degrees and are eligible to transfer to a UC campus. Under the direction of the UCSB LIFTED Faculty Director, the Program Manager utilizes professional student services concepts to support individuals incarcerated at California State Prison, Corcoran (CSP-COR) as they navigate the transfer process to UC Santa Barbara. This position encompasses a broad range of student services tasks and responsibilities. It involves close collaboration with students at California State Prison, Corcoran (CSP-COR), including time spent working with them at the facility. Duties include supervising professional and student staff, conducting faculty and student training, maintaining relationships with the prison, and contributing to central policy development. Responsibilities also involve overseeing all program processes and procedures, which require adherence to campus and UC policies as well as California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) rules and regulations that have implications beyond the unit. Regular travel to California State Prison, Corcoran (CSP-COR) is required to work with enrolled students and faculty teaching program courses.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and/or equivalent experience or training.
  • Clearance from the prison to access the education site within 60 days.

Special Conditions of Employment

  • This is a Career position with a specified end date. Current funding supports the role from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2029; however, the position may extend beyond the initial pilot phase depending on funding availability.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license, maintain a driving record in compliance with local policies and procedures, and/or enroll in the California Employer Pull Notice Program.
  • Satisfactory criminal history background check required.
  • UCSB maintains a Tobacco-Free environment.

Days/Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, schedule may vary.

Full Salary Range: $25.77 to $43.58 per hour.

Hiring or Budgeted Range: $26.53 to $32.19 per hour.
