We are currently seeking substitute adult crossing guards for various locations throughout Carlsbad. Applicants must reside within 10 miles of the schools due to the limited working hours.
The work schedule consists of 30 to 45 minutes before school starts and 30 to 45 minutes after school ends, with exact times depending on the specific school. This role is an excellent opportunity for parents, grandparents, or active seniors who are looking for a small amount of work.
Compensation is $17 for a 30-minute shift and $25.50 for a 45-minute shift. If you try the position and find it enjoyable, you may be placed on a waitlist for a regular assignment, which involves two shifts per day for each school day. This position provides a great supplemental income with a minimal time commitment.
Requirements
- Good eyesight and hearing
- Good reflexes and stability when walking on uneven surfaces
- Able to stand and walk for up to 45 minutes
- Able to work in all weather conditions
- Clean background record with no felonies
- Reliable, responsible, and patient
