Youth League Tennis Coach
Part-Time Coach opportunities are available for Spring sessions beginning in April.
Overview
Youth League Tennis (YLT) was established by Laura Kassirer, a former Wimbledon competitor, to enable all children to learn and compete against peers of similar skill levels within their local area. We seek dependable, optimistic, friendly, engaging, and high-energy individuals who wish to promote the sport of tennis and enjoy interacting with children. This role is well-suited for experienced coaches or college students seeking part-time employment.
YLT welcomes children aged 5 to 14, ranging from beginner to intermediate levels. Our mission is to expand participation in tennis, connect families with reputable local tennis professionals, and prepare children for High School tennis competition.
Coaches instruct consecutive groups of children during our 8-week sessions, held in Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall on Saturdays and Sundays.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Dependable, optimistic, friendly, engaging, and high-energy.
- Experience playing at a 4.0 level or higher is a significant advantage.
- Enjoy working with children.
Position Details
Locations and Schedules:
- Glendale - Saturdays, 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM
- Burbank - Sundays, 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM OR 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM
- Calabasas - Sundays, 9:00 AM - 12:30 PM
Compensation:
- $30 to $35 per hour, based on experience and role (Lead or Assistant Coach).
- Drive time compensation provided for commutes exceeding 20 minutes each way.
We Provide: Tennis balls for each skill level, personalized medals, and progress reports for all participants. Children bring their own rackets.
Required Documentation
- All coaches will undergo fingerprinting through the DOJ prior to starting.
- Applicants must provide 2 professional references.
