Overview

You will be instrumental in fostering student success by delivering tailored support, supervision, and direction in classroom settings and community environments.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent along with passing a basic skills assessment.
• An associate degree or higher in education or a closely related field is desirable.
• Possess a current or have the ability to secure a state driver's license.
• Capability to achieve and sustain certification in company-approved crisis management training.
• A current license or being in the process of obtaining a paraprofessional, paraeducator, teaching assistant, or similar credential is preferred.
• Previous experience in delivering instruction, direction, and/or assistance to children, especially in an alternative, special education, or behavioral health program context.
• Strong proficiency in working with children who have learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, emotional behavioral disorders, or other related disabilities.
• Comfort with driving or riding in a company van alongside students before or after school hours.
• Ability to react swiftly and calmly in urgent situations and make autonomous decisions.
• Skill in offering motivation and engaging in critical conversations with students.
• Advanced communication skills, both oral and written, as well as organization, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
• Familiarity with relevant technology, including instructional tools, Microsoft Office Suite, database entry, and standard office equipment.

Responsibilities

• Work with classroom teachers to create a supportive, inviting, and high-achieving learning atmosphere.
• Implement engaging, individualized teaching and behavioral strategies that align with each student's IEP goals.
• Instruct and supervise students during lessons to maintain instructional accuracy and apply focused approaches.
• Monitor student progress and proactively communicate with teachers about successes and areas requiring intervention.
• Effectively manage student behavior while reinforcing school philosophy and policies.
• Support and mentor students facing academic challenges, helping them develop essential community, vocational, leisure, domestic, academic, and social skills.
• Complete precise and timely documentation of student behaviors, performance, and suggestions.
• Assist in preparing behavioral reports, daily activity logs, and other records.
• Communicate proactively with students, colleagues, supervisors, and families about student needs and accomplishments.
• Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all student records.
• Participate in assurance, accreditation activities, and school-wide meetings.
• Respond constructively to feedback and carry out additional tasks as required.
