Destination Science Seeks Teachers and Assistants for the Upcoming Summer Season

Devote your summer to instructing children aged 5 to 11 in STEM subjects, including building rockets, rovers, and roller coasters, as well as leading camp activities. Collaborate with fellow educators to involve young learners in practical science experiments throughout the summer.

Summary

Destination Science adheres to a standard day camp timetable. Camp runs from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Instructors will lead three science sessions each day with a group of 14 children. Activities also include camp games, silly songs, and plenty of camp enthusiasm. Prepare, teach, play, and engage inquisitive minds while exploring engaging elementary-level STEM science and projects.

Locations: Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, Studio City, Encino, Glendale, Burbank, La Canada

Dates: 6/08-6/12, 6/15-6/19, 6/22-6/26, 6/29-7/02, 7/6-7/10, 7/13-7/17, 7/20-7/24, 7/27-7/31, 8/03-8/07

Must be available for 4 weeks or more.

Qualifications

• A genuine fondness for children
• Experience in preparing and organizing lesson plans
• Experience instructing and supervising a group of 10 to 14 children

Ideal Applicants

Educators, student teachers, teaching assistants, substitutes, outdoor educators, parks and recreation staff, college students, or mature high school juniors or seniors who enjoy camp games.

Enjoy working with children, games, and camp songs but lack experience? Consider applying for a Site Assistant role, which starts at minimum wage.
