Pacific Preparatory Makerspace Summer Camp Instructor
Location: Los Angeles, CA (Windward School)
Overview
Pacific Preparatory is looking for a skilled instructor based in Los Angeles to lead a one-week Makerspace Summer Camp. This role emphasizes hands-on, project-based learning with a focus on creativity, design thinking, and making. Compensation ranges from $50 to $70 per hour, based on experience, with an additional 3 hours of paid preparation time weekly.
Schedule and Available Weeks
Daily Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM (student attendance is from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM).
Available Weeks (select one or more):
- Week 1: June 22 to June 26
- Week 2: July 6 to July 10
- Week 3: July 13 to July 17
- Week 4: July 20 to July 24
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Two or more years of tutoring or teaching experience
- Proven experience working in a makerspace lab setting
- Experience facilitating hands-on, project-based learning activities
- Strong organizational abilities and classroom management skills
- Capability to design and lead engaging instructional sessions
Preferred Experience
- Tools and Technology: 3D printers, laser cutters, robotics kits, electronics (including Arduino and circuits)
- Software: Coding platforms, CAD and design tools, animation programs
