Starting Pay: $18 per hour

Overview
Spectrum Center Schools and Programs is looking for an Instructional Aide 1:1 to join our award-winning Special Education team. In this role, you will offer direct, personalized support to a High School student, helping them succeed in both the classroom and the community. Responsibilities
- Work with teachers to create a supportive and high-achieving learning atmosphere.
- Deliver engaging, tailored instruction and behavioral interventions at school and in the community.
- Teach and supervise students during lessons, ensuring adherence to instructional plans and using focused strategies.
- Effectively manage student behavior, upholding school principles and policies.
- Assist students in building important community, vocational, leisure, domestic, academic, and social skills.
- Maintain accurate and prompt documentation of student behaviors and progress.
- Communicate proactively with students, coworkers, supervisors, and families.
- Keep all student records strictly confidential.
- Take part in accreditation activities and school-wide meetings.
- Carry out other tasks as needed to support student achievement.
Qualifications Required
- High school diploma or equivalent with successful completion of a basic skills test.
- Associate degree or higher in education or a related field is preferred.
- Licensed or in the process of obtaining a paraprofessional, paraeducator, or teaching assistant credential.
- Ability to become certified in company-approved crisis management training.
- Prior experience teaching or supporting children, ideally in special education or behavioral health.
- Skilled at working with children who have learning disabilities, emotional behavioral disorders, or autism spectrum disorders.
- Ability to stay calm and make independent decisions during emergencies.
- Proficient in motivating students and handling critical conversations.
- Strong communication, organization, conflict resolution, and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with instructional technology, Microsoft Office, and basic office equipment.
