Youth League Tennis Coach

Youth League Tennis (YLT) was founded by Laura Kassirer, a former Wimbledon competitor, to enable all children to learn and compete against peers of similar skill levels within their own local area. YLT is open to children aged 5 to 14, from beginners to intermediate players.

Overview

We are seeking to recruit part-time tennis instructors aged 18 and older to coach youth tennis, primarily for beginner and novice players. Our mission is to expand the sport of tennis by helping children start playing quickly, introducing families to high-quality local tennis professionals, and preparing kids for High School tennis.

YLT conducts 8-week sessions during Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall. Our Spring Session begins in mid-April. We are currently hiring for upcoming sessions.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Dependable, optimistic, friendly, engaging, and full of energy.
• Enjoy working with children and contributing to the growth of tennis.
• Prior tennis experience is beneficial; we welcome applicants who have played at a 4.0 level or above.
• Ideal for tennis coaches, college students, or exceptional High School Juniors and Seniors with coaching experience.

Schedule and Compensation

• YLT Directors are paid: $40 per hour
• Assistant Coaches are paid: $25 per hour to $35 per hour based on experience.
• Fall session takes place: Saturdays in Fullerton (2:30 PM to 4:30 PM) and Sundays in Irvine (10 AM to 12 PM) and Huntington Beach (2 PM to 4 PM).
• Extra hours may be available on weekday afternoons.
• Drive time reimbursement: For travel exceeding 20 minutes each way, we compensate $5 per 20-minute drive to a location.

We supply all necessary tennis balls, custom medals, and progress reports for participants. Children must bring their own rackets.
