Overview

EngAGE, a nonprofit organization focused on improving quality of life within affordable housing communities, is looking for dynamic instructional leaders. This role involves guiding groups of active seniors through activities in fitness, arts, or lifelong learning. This is a flexible, part-time contract opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead instructional sessions on a weekly or biweekly schedule.
  • Modify teaching approaches to suit a varied group of participants.
  • Keep in regular contact with the on-site Program Director.

Requirements

  • Must be comfortable instructing active older adults.
  • A clear LiveScan background check (FBI/DOJ) is necessary before beginning work.
  • Must hold a valid driver's license.
  • Expertise in one or more fields: fitness/wellness (e.g., yoga, tai-chi, dance), arts/creativity (e.g., drawing, painting, writing), or lifelong learning (e.g., technology, nutrition, languages).

Preferred Skills

  • Prior experience teaching older adults.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for health, wellness, and/or creative activities.

Commitment & Support

The typical time commitment is one hour per week or two hours every other week. Scheduling is flexible, ranging from weekday mornings to evenings, with weekends available upon request. An on-site visit and assistance from EngAGE and on-site staff will be provided.
