About This Jobs

Justin Pauly Architects, a Monterey-based architecture firm specializing in residential projects, is currently seeking a Project Manager for upcoming assignments in Monterey County and the South Bay regions.

Qualifications and Experience

A Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture is mandatory, along with 5 to 10 years of professional experience in a firm primarily focused on residential projects. Strong visual, written, and verbal communication abilities are essential.

Role and Responsibilities

Project managers at our office participate in every phase of a project, from schematic design through construction management. We do not operate as a hierarchical firm; instead, we rely on project managers to perform multiple tasks throughout a project, including but not limited to:

  • Collaborating with other team members on early schematic designs
  • Creating schematic design presentations and renderings (2D and 3D)
  • Conducting due diligence with regulatory agencies
  • Preparing comprehensive and clear sets of construction documents
  • Overseeing the permitting process for projects across multiple jurisdictions
  • Coordinating project consultants needed to produce construction documents (geotechnical, civil, structural, mechanical, interior design, etc.)
  • Having a strong grasp of architectural detailing and how those details relate to the overall building design concept
  • Managing communication with contractors and subcontractors during project construction
  • Handling client communication throughout the project duration

Preferred Skills

  • Archicad with Cadimage add-ons (willing to train candidates with Revit experience only, but proficiency in one or the other is required)
  • Familiarity with Enscape rendering software
  • SketchUp
  • Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
  • MS Office (Word, Excel, and Teams)
  • We operate a Mac-based office and expect familiarity with macOS
  • Experience with high-end single-family residential or multi-family affordable housing
  • Sketching and drawing skills

Employment Details

We are looking for a full-time employee and are open to flexible scheduling. We offer a competitive salary that reflects experience. Benefits include paid vacation, medical insurance, employer matching for retirement plans, and annual bonuses. Applicants outside of Monterey or Santa Cruz Counties should be willing to relocate to the area.

How to Apply

Applicants are asked to submit a resume and a portfolio of creative design work or recent work samples.
