Construction Assistant Project Manager

Overview
Under the guidance of the Director of Construction and Development, this position involves planning, supervising, and coordinating a diverse range of construction projects for the Morongo Band of Mission Indians. Responsibilities include overseeing the work of team members, managing contract administration, performance oversight, field change orders, progress payments, and final inspections.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in a related field such as architecture, engineering, or construction management is preferred.
- A minimum of three to five years of experience in public works construction management, project management, and capital improvement project administration.
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Must hold a valid Driver's License and be insurable under the company's policy.
- Preferred certifications include PMP, PgMP, CAPM, Associate Constructor (AC), Certified Professional Constructor (CPC), Certified Construction Manager (CCM).
- Experience working with Native American enterprises and Sovereign Nations is an advantage.
Knowledge and Skills Required
- Site preparation, building construction, and building systems such as electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.
- Public works and capital improvements contract administration.
- Ability to read engineering, architectural, and construction drawings.
- Advanced estimating and scheduling techniques.
- General understanding of entitlement, planning, and feasibility processes.
- Construction methods, materials, standards, regulations, and safety hazards.
- Relevant federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations.
- Principles of supervision, training, and performance evaluation.
- Proficiency with computers and related software, including Microsoft Office Suite, project management, scheduling, and estimating tools.
- Ability to be flexible, work effectively under pressure, coordinate multiple activities, and build strong working relationships.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A record of satisfactory performance, as verified by employment references.
