Join a Research Study with a Same-Sex Platonic Friend

If you and a close friend of the same sex are between the ages of 21 and 29 and regularly consume alcohol, you may qualify for a study conducted by researchers at the University of Southern California. This project investigates social interactions and drinking behavior.

Study Summary

The research involves filling out questionnaires and participating in on-site visits. Eligible participants can receive compensation of up to $700.

Eligibility Criteria

• You and a same-sex platonic friend must both take part in the study.
• Both individuals must be between 21 and 29 years old.
• Both individuals must be regular drinkers.

Participation Steps

• Complete a one-time remote screening session.
• Attend one in-person baseline appointment.
• Attend four in-person laboratory sessions.
• Complete surveys using your personal smartphone or another compatible device.
• Fill out two follow-up surveys at 6 months and 12 months after joining the study.
