Job Summary

We are looking for a Bookkeeper to join our team at a mid-sized independent retail grocery store. This position requires on-site work, not remote. Applicants must be experienced, detail-oriented, and adaptable. Please note this role is focused on bookkeeping, not accounting.

The ideal candidate will have prior bookkeeping experience, strong organizational abilities, and familiarity with accounting software.

Duties

• Prepare and process accounts payable.
• Handle daily bookkeeping tasks, including invoice logs.
• Record and reconcile transactions in the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Assist with payroll processing.
• Perform various other bookkeeping tasks as needed.

Requirements

• Proven experience in bookkeeping (or accounting roles), preferably in a retail environment, though not mandatory.
• Previous experience with accounting software.
• Understanding of bookkeeping principles and general ledger accounting.
• Familiarity with financial concepts such as debits and credits, journal entries, and account reconciliation procedures.
• Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail; proficiency in 10-key typing is desirable.
• Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members.

Starting pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
