Overview

Zurich is looking for an Umbrella Executive Underwriter or AVP Underwriting Director to join our Los Angeles team in the Excess Casualty/Umbrella division. This position involves managing new and renewal Umbrella accounts, cultivating relationships with Select Brokers, and applying technical underwriting and sales expertise. The combined salary bracket for this role is $113,100.00 - $276,900.00, with eligibility for short-term incentive bonuses.

Basic Requirements

For Executive Underwriter Level:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 5+ years in Underwriting/Market Facing OR 10+ years in Claims/Underwriting Support.
• OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice (with Associate Degree) and 3+ years in Underwriting/Market Facing OR 8+ years in Claims/Underwriting Support.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Experience working under time constraints for new/renewal quotes.
• Experience working in a team environment.

For AVP Underwriting Director Level:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 7+ years in Underwriting/Market Facing OR 14+ years in Claims/Underwriting Support.
• OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice (with Associate Degree) and 5+ years in Underwriting/Market Facing OR 12+ years in Claims/Underwriting Support.
• Experience with Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Microsoft Office experience.

Compensation and Benefits

Pay is determined by role, location, skills, and experience, in accordance with local regulations. The proposed range for the Executive Underwriter is $113,100.00 - $209,300.00 with a 15% short-term incentive bonus eligibility. The proposed range for the Underwriting Director is $149,500.00 - $276,900.00 with a 20% short-term incentive bonus eligibility. Zurich provides competitive compensation and a full benefits package.
