Kismet Rotisserie is a fast-casual dining concept with four locations, operating as part of the Kismet restaurant group based in Los Angeles. Our menu emphasizes rotisserie chicken, crispy potatoes, vegetable sides, sandwiches, salads, and desserts. We offer healthy, comforting, and ultra-fresh everyday food, all made from scratch in-house daily. Complimentary meal during your shift. We believe in fairness and teamwork, which is why all hourly team members (non-management) at Kismet Rotisserie share equally in our tips and bonus pools. Job Summary

Schedule:
Friday 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM
Saturday 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM
Sunday 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM
Please respond to this post with your resume attached. Our hours of operation are 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM. The base rate is $17.87 per hour, but with tips and our shared tip pool, team members typically earn between $25 and $27 per hour on average (though this can vary slightly day to day). For your first three shifts, you will be paid the base rate, and then you will join the tip pool and begin sharing in additional earnings.
A Cashier is any member of the FOH team at Kismet Rotisserie and is expected to accomplish the following:
Attendance, Breaks, Dress Code, and Schedule
- Follow your schedule and communicate according to employee handbook policies as needed.
- Dress appropriately for every shift in accordance with dress code policy and employee handbook guidelines.
- Arrive for your shift with enough time to get settled, ideally a few minutes before your scheduled clock-in time.
- Clock in and out according to your schedule, unless otherwise directed.
- Accurately record meal breaks in Toast as directed by your schedule or supervisor, and comply with company meal period and break policies.
- Communicate all personal schedule needs through the appropriate Slack channel.
Set Up, Break Down, and General Expectations
- Stock beverages and set up or break down the drink machine, hand-washing the appropriate pieces. If breaking down, leave items in the appropriate place for the next day’s setup.
- Stock or package any food or beverage items needed for service, including but not limited to all drinks in the lowboy, sauces, and desserts.
- Stock all packaging, utensils, stickers, and similar items.
- Set up and break down dining areas both indoors and outdoors.
- Set up and break down trash, recycling, and compost bins, with backup trash bags.
- Ensure cleanliness of FOH and customer spaces, including outdoor areas.
- Ensure the sani bucket is set up, maintained, and broken down.
- Ensure the sani spray bottle and towel for wiping tables are set up and available for use.
- Communicate with the kitchen about any changes to the menu or menu availability throughout service as needed.
- Mark any items in or out of stock on the UberEats tablet and in Toast.
- Check and communicate any scheduled orders.
- Communicate needs for the following day.
- Report any broken, missing, or damaged equipment or property to management for appropriate replacement, repair, or resolution.
Customer Interactions and Communication
- Warmly greet all people who enter the space.
- Create a pleasant and warm experience for all customers, including smiling and interacting with patience and a genuine desire to provide hospitable service.
- Communicate with customers and coworkers with patience, grace, and helpfulness.
- Troubleshoot all customer or order issues with patience and efficiency, doing your best to resolve the issue when possible, while understanding your limits and communicating to customers that a manager will follow up.
- Report any larger order or customer issues immediately to a lead or manager, and follow up in Slack on the correct channel.
- Document customer complaints by completing all sections of the Customer Complaint Form.
Menu and Ordering
- Have full knowledge of the complete Main Menu, including all individual menu items and allergy information.
- Stay up to date on any menu changes, updates, or seasonal specials.
- Be aware of all allowable substitutions and communicate them clearly to customers.
- Ensure all customers, especially dine-in guests, receive their drinks and desserts.
- Have a good understanding of the Catering Menu items and policies related to placing catering orders.
- Troubleshoot any issues with orders as needed, whether the customer is in person, over the phone, or through a third-party delivery.
- Handle and troubleshoot all POS functions, including but not limited to correctly ringing in the Tab name and Dining Option, including time or table number as needed; correctly ringing in all menu items; voiding a transaction; refunding a transaction; printing receipts during or after a transaction; adding a tip after a transaction is closed; reopening a transaction; adding a discount; adding a service charge; scheduling orders; and processing gift cards.
- Interact correctly with the UberEats tablet, including but not limited to accepting orders immediately; pressing Prepare after the order has been entered into Toast; pressing Ready when the order is complete and waiting; marking 86s or Items Out of Stock as needed; pushing back prep time as needed; and reaching out to customers or Uber support as needed.
Bagging and Handing Off Orders
- Check every order, ensuring items in the bag correspond to the ticket, and add whatever is needed from FOH.
- Mark items on the ticket as they are checked in each bag to ensure accuracy.
- Split bags as needed to ensure the best possible delivery outcome.
- Staple bags closed on delivery orders to ensure they are tamper-proof.
- Track grouping multiple bags together as needed using the 1 of 2 and 2 of 2 system, as well as customer names.
- Hand off bags to customers and delivery drivers correctly and carefully, ensuring all items in multiple-bag or box orders are handed off to drivers.
Quality Control, Tasks, and Cleanliness
- Prepare and execute task work according to checklists, service or space needs, and direction from leads or management, including but not limited to packing all sauces, desserts, and vinaigrettes; stickering to-go cups; building utensil packets; building catering boxes; and organizing backup stock.
- Communicate any discrepancies in beverage, dessert, or other quality issues.
- Be aware of DOH protocol and alert a manager and the kitchen as soon as a health inspector enters the door. Ask the inspector to wait while you get a manager to greet them.
- Properly label all House Beverages with date and item name, and keep organized according to FIFO in the lowboy and walk-in.
- Bus and wipe down tables, trash areas, counters, windows, sills, doors, and outdoor areas to maintain a clean and inviting environment for customers and staff.
- Sweep indoor and outdoor areas as needed to maintain a clean workplace.
- Bring bus tubs back to the dish area as needed.
- Take out trash, recycling, and compost as needed.
- Help accept deliveries of product (produce, dry goods, beverage, market, paper goods) by directing delivery drivers to appropriate drop-off areas. Help put away deliveries as needed and directed by management, and ensure invoices are received by management.
Personal Attitude and Behavior Expectations
- Maintain a positive attitude and be respectful of coworkers and managers.
- Operate with a team-oriented mentality and a holistic approach to service.
- Interact courteously, kindly, and professionally with all customers and all people entering the store, including but not limited to delivery drivers, neighbors, inspectors, and unhoused individuals.
- Ask coworkers and managers for help when needed, both in terms of workload and expectations.
- Alert a lead or manager if there is a need to have any out-of-the-ordinary interaction with a guest or coworker. Anything outside of standard interactions should be addressed immediately.
- Treat the entire space respectfully and with care, including all shared spaces such as lockers, bathrooms, employee areas, outdoor areas, and trash facilities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
