Position Overview

The Executive Sous Chef works directly alongside the Executive Chef and Chef de Cuisine to manage daily kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards in food quality, execution, cleanliness, and team performance. This role is essential for guiding, coaching, and building a high-performing kitchen team.

Core Duties

• Direct and manage daily kitchen functions in a fast-moving, high-volume setting
• Maintain and enforce quality, consistency, and presentation standards for all menu items
• Lead, train, and mentor kitchen staff to uphold Mi Piace’s standards and culture
• Ensure correct food handling, sanitation practices, and adherence to health regulations
• Assist with scheduling, inventory management, and cost control
• Support menu execution, development, and seasonal adjustments
• Maintain clear communication with front-of-house management
• Assume the leadership position in the absence of the Executive Chef

Qualifications

• At least 3 to 5 years of management experience in a high-volume, scratch kitchen environment
• Strong background in Italian cuisine is highly desirable
• Proven capability to lead and develop teams effectively
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• In-depth understanding of food cost, labor cost, and kitchen operational systems
• Ability to perform under pressure while maintaining sharp attention to detail
• Strong work ethic, professionalism, and a constructive attitude
