Overview

Become part of Momentum River Expeditions for a vibrant summer position that blends retail management with action photography. Your day will involve operating our boutique "River Center" store, greeting visitors, and then trekking to the river to photograph their whitewater rafting experiences. This role suits a proactive, sociable person who loves interacting with others, enjoys hiking, and thrives working independently in a scenic natural environment. You must be willing to relocate to the Kern River Valley for the entire summer season.

Requirements

• Strong customer service abilities.
• Highly attentive to details, neat, and well-organized.
• Friendly and enthusiastic personality with a genuine interest in people.
• Comfortable hiking alone on steep, unpaved riverside trails where there is no cell phone reception.
• Basic computer skills.
• Comfortable working outdoors in hot summer weather.
• Diligent, dependable, and capable of working with little oversight.
• Available to work every weekend and holiday from Memorial Day through Labor Day 2026.
• Age 18 or older and possess a valid driver's license.
• Photography experience is not required; training will be provided.
• Experience with point-of-sale systems is an advantage but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Open, oversee, and conduct thorough cleaning of the "River Center" retail store.
• Greet customers warmly, address inquiries, and assist with the check-in process.
• Drive to the river, hike to designated photography locations, and capture action shots of rafts navigating rapids.
• Upload, sell, and distribute photographs to guests.
• Keep retail inventory stocked and well-maintained.
• Organize the store between trips and care for the guest patio area, including watering plants.
