Animal Hospital Veterinary Assistant

Overview: We are looking for a committed, trustworthy, and mature Veterinary Assistant to join our busy, round-the-clock animal hospital. This physically demanding and hands-on position involves providing compassionate, comprehensive care to animals, including support during surgical procedures and keeping the medical facility exceptionally clean.

Requirements

• Physical Endurance: Must be able to stand, walk, and bend throughout an eight-hour shift, and routinely lift items weighing over 40 pounds.
• Work Environment: Applicants must not have allergies to cats, dogs, other animals, or typical disinfectants and cleaning agents.
• Schedule Flexibility: This role requires open availability from Monday through Sunday due to our 24-hour operations.
• Shift Timing: The scheduled shift is from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
• Adaptability: Must be willing to work overtime, rotating shifts, or varying schedules as required.
• Dependability: We need a reliable and mature individual, as the animals in our care depend on constant attention.

Key Duties

• Clinical Support: Administer medications and fluids, take X-rays, perform dental cleanings, and assist during surgical procedures.
• Animal Supervision: Provide continuous monitoring and handling of both dogs and cats throughout each day.
• Hygiene and Safety: Uphold rigorous cleanliness standards across the hospital to ensure the well-being of all animals.
• Task Management: Complete all assigned animal care and cleaning duties efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
