Location: Morongo Reservation and nearby regions

Overview

Reporting to the Executive Director of Real Estate and Development, this role oversees all development activities for land and building projects both on and off the Morongo Reservation. The position demands high energy, technical expertise, and professionalism, with a focus on site acquisition, due diligence, regulatory approvals, design, and construction.

Requirements

• 7 to 10 years of experience in a comparable role in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management.
• Experience collaborating with Sovereign Nations or Native American Tribes.
• Experience in local development, municipal permits, and construction processes.
• Experience with CEQA and entitlement procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Construction Management, Architecture, or Engineering (Civil or Structural), or equivalent experience.
• A blend of experience as a project manager with a general contractor, an architecture and engineering firm, or in owner representation.
• A professional license (Engineer, Architect, etc.) is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Self-driven with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities with minimal supervision.
• Proficient in: MS Project, Google Earth, ACAD viewer, and standard Microsoft tools.
• Experience with Data Center, complex MEP, or large-scale power projects is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with capital deployment and entitlement teams to advance pursuit projects and manage high-profile land development and complex Tribal inventory initiatives.
• Develop budgets, identify risks, and monitor costs for land, infrastructure, and building construction.
• Develop, bid, and oversee projects with development costs ranging from $10M to $100M+.
• Lead external jurisdictional entitlements and permits to ensure project timelines are met.
• Guide a team of consultants, contractors, and staff to move projects from conception to completion.
• Respond to build-to-suit or leasing RFPs by creating plans, specifications, budgets, and schedules.
• Organize and participate in regular development meetings with stakeholders.
• Foster and enhance departmental and enterprise culture to support success and growth.
• Ensure satisfaction of both internal and external customers.
• Research design, construction alternatives, and value engineering opportunities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
