Overnight Veterinary Support Specialist

Position Summary

We are seeking an alert and proactive individual to join our 24-hour veterinary facility as an Overnight Veterinary Support Specialist. This essential role involves dedicated supervision and treatment of animals during nighttime hours, offering crucial assistance for urgent medical cases in a calm yet demanding atmosphere.

Qualifications

• Background: Prior experience as a Veterinary Technician or within a veterinary clinical environment. Please mention any relevant licenses or certifications.
• Availability: Must be able to work full-time overnight shifts, with flexible availability from Monday through Sunday.
• Physical Requirements: Capable of lifting 50 pounds or more and moving across the property, including uneven terrain, in dim lighting.
• Transportation: Reliable vehicle is necessary to commute to the Acton, CA location for these hours.
• Outdoor Exposure: Comfortable working outside in various weather conditions, as nighttime temperatures can fluctuate greatly.
• Animal Interaction: Must have no known allergies to cats, dogs, or other animals that might hinder frequent handling.
• Self-Sufficiency: Able to finish assigned tasks promptly and systematically with strong focus and precision during overnight periods.

Primary Duties

• Nighttime Patient Management: Deliver thorough, hands-on support for hospitalized animals, including giving medications and overseeing fluid treatments.
• Emergency Response: Serve as primary support for unexpected overnight cases and critical medical events.
• Monitoring and Safety: Ensure a clean and secure environment, keeping all animals comfortable and protected throughout the night.
