Summary

CalPortland is looking for a Talent Development Manager to enhance organizational capabilities through the creation, implementation, and assessment of initiatives focused on employee growth and leadership preparedness. This position is essential for succession planning and requires close collaboration with operational and human resources leadership. The role involves travel of up to 25 percent and provides a comprehensive benefits package, including a 401k and a company-funded pension program.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Organizational Psychology, Education, or an equivalent discipline (a Master's degree is preferred).
  • More than five years of experience in talent development, corporate training, leadership cultivation, or talent management.
  • More than four years of experience directing teams or managing cross-departmental projects.
  • Demonstrated capability to develop programs for high-potential employees or leadership tracks.
  • Competence with Learning Management System (LMS) platforms.
  • Experience with succession planning and talent evaluation processes.
  • Familiarity with organizational development, change management, and project management practices.
  • Skill in aligning learning strategies with operational contexts in construction materials, manufacturing, or related industrial sectors.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25 percent (with the possibility of additional travel as needed).

Preferred Background

  • Certifications in instructional design, facilitation, or eLearning tools.
  • Experience within construction materials, manufacturing, or industrial settings.
  • Experience in fast-expanding or startup environments.
