Join a premier boutique litigation firm that focuses on catastrophic injury cases against Fortune 500 companies. This position provides direct engagement in every phase of high-stakes, technically intricate civil litigation, from investigation through trial, within an expanding practice featuring a new Long Beach office.
Core Responsibilities
- Draft and potentially argue discovery motions in both state and federal courts.
- Assist in preparing and conducting depositions of fact witnesses and expert witnesses.
- Manage document-heavy discovery in cases involving complex engineering or product liability failures.
- Collaborate with technical experts on accident reconstruction and failure analysis.
- Prepare comprehensive case analyses concerning regulatory compliance and industry standards.
- Contribute to trial preparation and strategy in high-stakes litigation.
- Interact directly with catastrophically injured clients and their families.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school with a strong academic record (top 25% preferred).
- California Bar admission (or pending with expected admission within 60 days).
- 1-3 years of litigation experience, ideally in personal injury, products liability, or complex civil litigation.
- Exceptional legal research and writing skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to succeed in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
- Self-starter mentality with the capability to manage multiple complex cases simultaneously.
- Genuine dedication to plaintiff-side advocacy and holding corporations accountable.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical undergraduate degree (engineering, physics, or hard sciences).
- Federal court admission (C.D. Cal.).
- Experience with aviation, automotive, or product defect litigation.
- Class action experience.
- Comfort with analyzing technical documents and engineering specifications.
- Second language proficiency.
