Overview

Zurich is looking for an accomplished Liability Trial Attorney to defend commercial policyholders by preparing and litigating moderate to high stakes cases in the areas of General Liability, Commercial Auto, and Products Liability. The projected salary range for this role is $150,000.00 - $190,000.00, along with eligibility for a short-term incentive bonus.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree and at least 5 years of litigation experience.
• Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar Association.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe, and legal research platforms (Lexis/Westlaw).
• Understanding of the insurance sector, claims handling, and insurance defense litigation.

Responsibilities

• Defend insured clients throughout all stages of litigation while adhering to ethical standards.
• Handle all facets of insurance defense, including investigations, legal analysis, drafting pleadings, discovery, hearings, and trials.
• Promote favorable outcomes by applying legal knowledge, conducting research, and overseeing pre-trial discovery.
• Work closely with claims adjusters to formulate case strategies and achieve timely resolutions.
• Employ alternative dispute resolution methods, such as mediation and negotiation.
• Stay current on legal developments and provide mentorship to junior attorneys.
