Overview
TORKLAW, an award-winning personal injury law firm, seeks an experienced and empathetic Litigation Attorney to handle significant personal injury cases from initiation to resolution. This role involves managing a substantial caseload of complex, high-value matters, vigorously advocating for clients, and working within a collaborative team environment. The expected annual compensation for this role is $200,000 or more, depending on experience (DOE).
Requirements
- Must be an attorney in good standing and authorized to practice law within the state.
- A minimum of seven years of personal injury experience, with a strong emphasis on trial work.
- Comprehensive understanding of state laws, regulations, and procedures relevant to personal injury cases.
- Advanced research, analytical, and interpretive skills for examining legal precedents and statutes.
- Superior written and verbal communication abilities for preparing legal documents and client communications.
- Demonstrated success in case management and client representation.
- Experience conducting legal research, drafting briefs, and offering sound legal counsel.
- Ability to work effectively with paralegals, support staff, and fellow attorneys.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail for managing multiple cases and deadlines.
- Capability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is advantageous but not mandatory.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all stages of personal injury litigation, from case investigation through settlement.
- Perform comprehensive investigations to assess liability and damages.
- Prepare and submit all required legal documents, including those for discovery, motions, and summary judgment responses.
- Negotiate settlements with insurance companies and opposing counsel.
- Deliver outstanding client service by regularly updating clients on case developments.
- Act as First Chair in civil jury trials.
