Overview

Cloacina is looking for a Senior Project Manager to organize internal and external resources to meet contractual project requirements. The chosen candidate will oversee all facets of project management, including setup, fabrication resource allocation, construction oversight, site safety, and overall project execution in line with plans, specifications, budget, and timeline. Typical project values range from $2,000,000 to $10,000,000 or more. Travel is required as necessary to support project outcomes and contractual obligations.

Typical Duties

Project Preconstruction and Kickoff

• Develop project budgets
• Establish phase codes for cost tracking
• Issue and negotiate purchase orders and subcontracts
• Create a schedule of values and corresponding AIA billing documents
• Lead preconstruction meetings
• Secure and coordinate all site utilities and temporary facilities when needed
• Help organize and support project mobilization

Project Execution

• Able to manage multiple small to mid-sized projects simultaneously
• Expected to be well-informed, inquisitive, and diligent about all aspects of water and wastewater facility construction
• Works jointly with the Production Project Manager at the Cloacina factory to build and deliver our flagship MEMPAC-M technology for their assigned projects
• Must inform management of any significant project issues that could affect personnel safety, work quality, schedule, profitability, or Cloacina's reputation
• Establishes the overall work direction for the project, serving as the primary planner, problem-solver, and decision-maker
• Holds vendors and subcontractors accountable and can dismiss them if necessary
• Responsible for forming and maintaining a project team that completes the project successfully and strengthens Cloacina's long-term capabilities
• Oversees project budgets, including monthly cost projections, and holds ultimate responsibility for project profitability
• Creates, logs, and tracks Requests for Information (RFIs)
• Submits monthly subcontractor calculations to the financial tracking system for accounting staff
• Authors most project-related correspondence
• Has full responsibility for executing and enforcing purchase orders and subcontracts
• Prepares and processes invoices, including collections
• Maintains Bill of Materials (BOM) and Manufacturing Execution System (MES); responsible for purchasing all project materials and ensuring they arrive on site as scheduled
• Conducts all job site meetings with owners, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and employees
• Ensures safe work practices, including developing Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), preplanning, and engineering safety measures
• Works with general contractors and subcontractors to ensure correct equipment (including form systems) is on site, well-maintained, and properly used to minimize rentals and maximize productivity
• Ensures good housekeeping and that operations are well-planned and efficiently executed, including proper layout, minimal rework, and appropriate shoring and dewatering
• Ensures the project is built according to contract documents and industry standards and functions as intended
• Serves as the primary representative of Cloacina, upholding its culture and vision, and strives to leave the project with an enhanced reputation for partnership and craftsmanship
• Ultimately responsible for all aspects of site construction on your project

Project Closeout

• The Startup Engineer for the project typically creates startup and training plans, coordinates and schedules all parties, and documents the completion of all startup paperwork
• Responsible for creating and finalizing the punch list with the owner's representative
• Has full responsibility for closing out the project, including closeout documentation and collecting retention payments
• Completes all Cloacina internal project closeout documentation

Notice of Work Environment and Occupational Hazards

The wastewater industry involves hazards due to exposure to biological and chemical risks, as well as physical dangers, including but not limited to confined spaces, slips, falls, wet or humid conditions, high or low altitudes, moving mechanical parts, elevated or precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, vibration, sewage, epoxy coatings, solvents, and loud noise levels.

Employees may come into contact with wastewater containing human waste. Wastewater carries various bacteria, viruses, and parasites that can cause diseases in humans and animals. Workers may be exposed through contact with wastewater, aerosols containing pathogens, or contaminated equipment. Wastewater treatment processes also involve various chemicals, some of which may be toxic or corrosive.

It is essential that employees wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follow safety procedures. Although not mandatory, it is strongly recommended that employees keep up to date with vaccinations, including Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Tetanus, and Diphtheria.
