Conformal Coating Operator
Location: Onsite
Schedule: Full-Time (40 hours), Monday through Friday
Shift: First Shift: 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM
Overview
We are looking for a meticulous Conformal Coating Operator to become part of our manufacturing team. In this essential position, you will manually apply protective coatings to printed circuit boards and electronic assemblies to ensure product dependability and durability. This role demands adherence to strict process specifications and quality benchmarks, with close collaboration across production, quality, and engineering departments. Compensation is set at $18 to $25 per hour, depending on experience.
Responsibilities
- Manually apply conformal coating to PCBs and electronic assemblies.
- Mask and demask connectors, test points, and sensitive components.
- Inspect coated assemblies for proper coverage, thickness, and defects such as bubbles, voids, or contamination.
- Conduct touch-up and rework to satisfy quality and customer specifications.
- Mix, prepare, and manage coating materials according to specifications and SDS guidelines.
- Cure assemblies using air-dry, heat, or UV processes as directed.
- Read and interpret work instructions, assembly drawings, and process documentation.
- Complete travelers, batch records, and inspection paperwork accurately.
- Keep tools, fixtures, and work areas clean to prevent contamination, following 5S standards.
- Adhere to IPC standards, ESD controls, EHS requirements, and company safety policies.
- Use required personal protective equipment, including gloves, respirators, and eye protection.
- Report process issues or quality concerns to supervisors or quality staff.
- Follow all company procedures and perform additional tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Prior experience in manual conformal coating or electronics assembly.
- Strong attention to detail and capability to follow directions.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-moving environment.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work effectively within a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous work experience in a manufacturing or production setting.
- Familiarity with hand-applied coating materials.
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions, assembly drawings, and customer specifications.
- Basic knowledge of IPC J-STD-001 and/or IPC-A-610 standards for electronic assembly.
