Urgent Appeal for Foster Homes for Rescued Dogs
Fostering directly saves lives. We are in immediate need of foster homes for several dogs rescued from high-kill shelters in Los Angeles. Without foster families, we cannot rescue dogs who have run out of time. Ace of Hearts provides all food, supplies, veterinary care, and ongoing support – you simply need to offer a safe space and affection. Even short-term fostering, for just a few days, can mean the difference between life and death.
Dogs Currently Seeking Safe Environments
SCOUT – Friendly American Bulldog, German Shepherd, and Husky Mix
Scout is a 7-month-old male mix with a vibrant personality. He is very social, enjoys being around people, other dogs, and playing with toys. He is still learning to manage stress and displays some resource-guarding tendencies, which are being addressed through training. He will thrive best in a home that provides clear boundaries, a consistent routine, and continued training.
BELLA – Gentle Senior Boxer
Bella is a sweet 10-year-old boxer mix rescued from Downey Shelter. She is gentle, affectionate, quiet, and forms attachments quickly. She enjoys being near her human, is calm and low-maintenance, and likes short walks. Due to her age, she may have some vision or hearing loss. She is best suited for a quiet home without cats.
VITO – Energetic Shepherd Mix
Vito is a friendly and playful German Shepherd mix who enjoys adventures. He is affectionate, house-trained, loves to play and explore, and gets along well with most other dogs. He is the ideal companion for someone who enjoys walking, hiking, and outdoor activities.
Why Fostering Makes a Difference
When shelters reach capacity, dogs are euthanized simply due to lack of space.
- Fostering rescues dogs from euthanasia.
- It allows dogs to decompress from the stressful shelter environment.
- It helps us understand each dog's personality.
- It increases their chances of being adopted quickly.
Ace of Hearts covers all costs – food, medical care, supplies, and support. You provide the home and the love.
Foster Requirements

- Must be able to attend adoption events and supply pickups at Petco in West Hollywood every other Saturday.
