Foster a Dog with Ace of Hearts Dog Rescue
Want to create real change? Fostering a dog is one of the most fulfilling experiences you can have. At Ace of Hearts Dog Rescue, we pull dogs of every breed from high-risk shelters just before they would be euthanized, and we place them into caring foster homes while they await their permanent families.
Overview
We are in urgent need of long-term fosters for medium to large breed dogs. We operate entirely through fosters — we do not have a physical facility. This means we cannot rescue additional dogs unless more people step up to foster. Right now, we are actively seeking compassionate, dependable individuals in the Los Angeles area to help us save lives.
Ace of Hearts provides all medical expenses and supplies. You supply the home and guidance. We supply everything including food, materials, and veterinary care. You supply a safe, caring home and help these dogs experience what it means to be nurtured. This is not a job; it is a chance for dog enthusiasts to receive compensation for their time and commitment to the dog's well-being.
Meet Zen
Zen is a 6-year-old Neo Mastiff mix who was given up for being "too big"... and he is still waiting for someone to pick him. Let us be honest — Zen is a large dog with an equally large heart.
He is:
- Extremely loving and affectionate
- Intelligent and keen to learn
- Playful and bursting with character
But Zen needs:
- A home with no other pets (solo dog only)
- Someone at ease with big breeds
- Calm, structured introductions to new people
He does best when he has his person all to himself — he simply wants to love and be loved without having to compete. Right now, he is being moved from place to place because the right match has not yet been found. And big dogs like Zen are the most difficult to rehome.
Foster Requirements
PLEASE READ THOROUGHLY — THESE ARE OUR CONDITIONS:
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Must already have complete approval from your landlord, roommates, family, and anyone else in your household. Please do not contact us unless you are absolutely certain you can bring a dog into your home.
- Must be available to attend adoption events and supply pickups at Petco in West Hollywood every other Saturday. Attendance is mandatory.
- Must be able to transport the dog to and from veterinary appointments as needed.
- Must be willing to commit to fostering for at least 4 weeks. If you can only help for a short period (a few days up to one week), we still need you — please get in touch.
