Requisition Number: 48404

This role offers an hourly wage of $25.00 to $27.29. Compensation will be based on relevant experience.

Overview

This position oversees all on-site front office duties at an APLA Health clinic. APLA Health delivers high-quality, compassionate medical services at no cost or reduced cost, acting as a medical home for over 71,000 patient visits each year. Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED is mandatory; an associate degree is preferred.
  • Experience in a medical office OR two (2) years of other customer service experience.
  • Familiarity with insurance plans, including Medi-Cal and Medicare.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential; experience with electronic health records is desirable.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and strong communication abilities are required.
  • COVID-19 vaccination and Booster, or a Medical or Religious Exemption, are required.

Essential Duties

  • Greet patients and visitors warmly and professionally, both in person and over the phone.
  • Arrange appointments to balance patient satisfaction and provider efficiency.
  • Register patients and confirm insurance eligibility or sliding fee status at each appointment.
  • Update patient financial details, collect payments, and issue receipts.
  • Help patients with check-in, registration, and using the patient portal system.
  • Protect patient privacy and follow all HIPAA regulations.
  • Keep the waiting area tidy and well-organized.
