Even fostering for just a few days can be the difference between survival and death.

This is an urgent appeal for foster homes to rescue dogs from Los Angeles shelters. Ace of Hearts Dog Rescue covers all costs. Fosters provide a temporary, loving home. Fostering is essential to prevent euthanasia and increases the likelihood of adoption.

Dogs Currently in Need of Safety

Cooper – Friendly English Bulldog Mix

• Cooper is an exceptionally sweet, loving, and playful 4-year-old English bulldog mix.
• Great with adults and young children.
• Gets along with dogs at home but may react when meeting new dogs during walks.
• House-trained and in good health.
• Enjoys toys, walks, and snuggling close to you.

Bella – Gentle Senior Boxer

• Bella is a kind 10-year-old boxer mix rescued from Downey Shelter.
• She is very gentle, affectionate, and quiet, forming strong bonds with her caretaker.
• Loves being near her human and will follow you throughout the house.
• Calm and low-maintenance.
• Sleeps quietly nearby and enjoys soft blankets.
• Walks well and likes short strolls.
• Due to her age, Bella may have some vision and hearing loss.
• She would thrive in a quiet home without cats.

Cruze – Sweet Lab/Shepherd Mix

• Cruze is a well-mannered German Shepherd/Lab mix who enjoys people and young children.
• Behaves well indoors but does not get along with other dogs or cats.
• Loud noises scare him.
• Enjoys exercise but may pull strongly on his leash.
• Desires to be your best friend and loves playing.

Blankets and Jack Jack – Bonded Best Friends

• These two American Bulldog mixes were rescued together and must remain together as they rely on each other for comfort.
• Both dogs are about 2 years old, very sweet, but extremely shy and still learning to trust people.
• Blankets: Gentle and sensitive, looks to Jack Jack for reassurance, loves toys.
• Jack Jack: More confident of the pair, very motivated by treats, enjoys being close to his sister.
• They are quiet, affectionate, house-trained, and learning to feel safe around humans.
• These dogs require a patient and calm foster who can help them build confidence.

Vito – Energetic Shepherd Mix

• Vito is a friendly and playful German Shepherd mix who enjoys adventures.
• He is ideal for someone who likes walks, hikes, and outdoor activities.
• Very affectionate with people.
• House-trained.

Foster Requirements

• Must be 21 or older.
• Must have full approval from landlord, roommates, family, and others.
• Must be able to attend adoption events and supply pickups at Petco in West Hollywood every other Saturday.
• Must be able to transport the dog to and from veterinary appointments.
• Must commit to at least 4 weeks of fostering. Short-term fosters are also needed, even just a few days can save a life.
