Even a short-term commitment of a few days can be the deciding factor between life and death for these animals.
Overview
There is an urgent requirement for foster homes for dogs rescued from Los Angeles shelters. Ace of Hearts covers all costs, including food, supplies, and veterinary care. Foster caregivers provide a temporary, safe home and affection, which helps dogs recover from shelter stress and find permanent adoption more quickly.
Dogs in Need of Safe Homes
- KING – American Bulldog: A loyal and energetic canine who flourishes with human interaction. Best suited as the sole pet in a household that provides consistent training and structure.
- BELLA – Gentle Senior Boxer: A sweet, calm 10-year-old boxer mix. She is gentle, affectionate, and quiet, and would thrive best in a peaceful home without cats.
- SCOUT – American Bulldog / German Shepherd Mix: A 7-month-old male with a significant personality. He is very sociable and enjoys the company of people, other dogs, and toys.
- AXEL – German Shepherd/Labrador Mix: A spirited, active 5-year-old dog who does well with other canine friends. Requires an experienced owner capable of providing firm training.
- IRIE – Terrier: An adorable 1-year-old bursting with playful, youthful energy. She is loyal, affectionate, and enjoys walks and cuddling.
Why Fostering is Important
When shelters reach capacity, dogs are euthanized simply because there is no available space. Fostering:
- Prevents dogs from being euthanized.
- Allows them to recover from the stressful shelter environment.
- Enables us to discover their genuine personality.
- Increases their chances of being adopted quickly.
Ace of Hearts covers all expenses, including food, medical care, supplies, and support. You provide the home and the affection.
