Local Diesel Mechanic

Job Type: Full-Time, Local Position

Location: Baldwin Park, CA

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Salary: Dependent on Experience

Summary

Our trucking facility is looking for an experienced local diesel mechanic. The job mainly focuses on servicing Volvo (80%) and Freightliner (20%) semi-trucks, including Peterbilt models. The perfect candidate must be skilled in using specific engine software and have their own tools and laptop.

Qualifications

• Must be highly knowledgeable in diagnosing Volvo, Freightliner, and Cummins systems.
• Proficiency with J-Pro and other related diagnostic tools is essential.
• Must own a laptop (with required software installed) and personal tools.
• At least 5 years of practical work experience.
• A valid driver's license is required.
• Bilingual in Spanish is advantageous but not mandatory.

Duties

The mechanic should be capable of independently identifying and repairing the following:

• Engines: Volvo D13, Detroit Diesel, and Cummins.
• Clutches and Power Take-Off (PTO) assemblies.
• Electrical, hydraulic, and air brake systems.
• Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning units.
• Instruments, gauges, and routine preventive maintenance tasks.
