Position Type: Full-time
Overview
This position is tasked with ensuring that fleet vehicles comply with the emissions standards of the California Air Resources Board (CARB) as well as Clean Truck regulatory requirements. The mechanic carries out advanced diagnostics, emissions testing, and repairs on heavy-duty fleet vehicles, traveling to various southern plant locations as necessary. This is not a remote work position.

Essential Functions
- Conduct CARB compliance inspections and Clean Truck testing on heavy-duty fleet vehicles.
- Diagnose and repair emissions-related faults, including check engine lights and aftertreatment systems.
- Troubleshoot DEF, DPF, SCR, EGR, and related emissions systems.
- Perform advanced electronic diagnostics using OEM and aftermarket scan tools.
- Complete corrective repairs to bring vehicles into regulatory compliance.
- Ensure vehicles meet CHP/BIT/PM inspection requirements.
- Carry out routine and preventive maintenance in accordance with DOT and company standards.
- Maintain records for BIT inspections, DVIRs, and work orders.
- Follow all company safety procedures and environmental guidelines.
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma.
- 3 or more years of heavy-duty diesel or fleet vehicle diagnostics and repair.
- Strong working knowledge of emissions and aftertreatment systems.
- Ability to interpret diagnostic trouble codes and technical service data.
- Experience with electronic diagnostic tools and software.
- Ability to travel between Southern California plant locations.
Preferred Experience
- ASE Medium/Heavy Truck Certification or Equivalent.
- Experience with CARB compliance programs.
- OEM dealership or fleet maintenance experience.
- Experience with fleet management software.
- CDL (preferred but not required).

- Knowledge of maintenance repair methods, tools, and equipment.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
