Fleet Mechanic

Overview: We are looking for a skilled and committed Fleet Mechanic to become part of our maintenance crew. The right candidate should possess significant expertise in heavy equipment vehicle repair, diagnostics, mechanical systems, and preventive upkeep.

Requirements

• Demonstrated background as a mechanic; experience in a dealership or with heavy equipment is preferred.
• In-depth familiarity with repairs involving diesel engines, transmissions, HVAC systems, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Proficient in utilizing hand tools, power tools, and other maintenance equipment.
• Capable of performing heavy lifting and adapting to different environmental working conditions.
• Outstanding problem-solving abilities with a strong focus on detail.
• A valid mechanic certification or relevant technical training is advantageous.
• Solid customer service skills for interacting with internal teams or external vendors.

Duties

• Conduct regular maintenance and repairs on fleet vehicles, including tractor-trailers.
• Identify mechanical issues through computer diagnostics, schematics, diagnostic tools, and electrical testing equipment.
• Repair, replace, and service brakes, coolant systems, shocks, suspensions, HVAC systems, air brakes, and perform oil changes.
• Employ hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment.
• Manage tire services such as mounting, balancing, and replacement.
• Keep comprehensive service records and adhere to manufacturer repair specifications.
• Help troubleshoot electrical systems and carry out wiring repairs.
• Ensure all work meets safety standards and industry regulations.
